Q: How do I get a quote for my wedding day?

A: "Email office@markesices.co.uk or go to the website and use our contact form. The information needed is Date,Time,location and number of guests to cater for and a detailed quote will be tailored for your special day"

Q: Will it be price competitive ?

A: "No we have looked at this in the past and in our experience so many factors during a wedding from Church services, speeches to catering delay's cause a knock on effect for us who as dessert usually are the last to be required, so experience has taught us the key factor is flexibility so no client has any worry about unavoidable delays causing complications in us waiting until needed. With this in mind Markes Ices do not get involved in turn up and serve and leave type of hire. You book with us the van is yours as long as needed."

• Product and Public liability insurance (check insurance is with reputable company. cheap offshore insurance could be a problem in the event of any claim).
• Employers Insurance
• Trading licence (issued by local authority)
• Risk Assessment
• HACCP or hazard analysis flow charts. ( duty of care)  (This is a legal requirement)
• Are all staff Allergy aware? (what has been put in place)
• Although CRB checks are not a legal requirement for caterers it is reassuring when anyone is working with children.
• Does the company always confirm in writing your booking confirmation
• Check Testimonials (customer reviews are a very good way to see how the company is rated for client satisfaction)
• Terms and conditions of hire ( clearly defining the company’s promise to you ).

But, it’s not normal ice cream, no! This is the magical North Pole Ice cream made by the elves in the workshop! Spending all year mixing and making it, the elves have sent their special ice cream to Markes Ices.
With his reindeer safe in the stable, Father Christmas is now in the Ice cream van and on his way! So keep your eyes open and you might just see him!

Why is it called a 99 ice cream / Cadbury Flake

An Ice Cream served in a cone with a Flake 99 is the UK's favourite ice cream. In the days of the monarchy in Italy the King had an elite guard consisting of 99 soldiers. Subsequently anything really special or first class was known as "99". When Cadbury launched its small Flake for ice creams in 1930, the UK ice cream industry was dominated by ex-pat Italians. So, to appeal to Italians we called our superb Flake a "99".
